Cartographic program

One room, many Armencias: terrain, state, water, climate, economy, people, and memory

The room is intentionally modular. Each card is a future layer family, not a decorative placeholder: the data class, priority, and methodological role are defined now so heavy scientific layers can later move into PostGIS, PMTiles, COG rasters, or vector tiles without redesigning the interface.

Build rule

The Armenia Room should not merge every geography into one overloaded map. Administrative, physical, climate, hydrology, agriculture, industry, population, and heritage layers must remain separate so the user always knows what kind of evidence is visible.

Next data targets

  • Official RA administrative and settlement datasets.
  • DEM-derived elevation and hypsometric classes.
  • Seismic catalogs and tectonic/fault layers.
  • Climate normals, hydrology, land cover, agriculture, and population grids.
  • Heritage transfer from the existing Cultural Heritage Atlas and private 3D Armenia Earth.
