Kastellum Turrensium/Matidianum

Gsell (AAA, whence BAtlas) reports as "El Mehiriss" the findspot of a Roman inscription marking the boundaries of fields assigned to the "coloni Kasturrenses" by Matidia Minor (Trajan's grand-niece). In 2025, this locale was labeled "Mechtat Mekhiris" in Google Earth. Another inscription, found in the area of Equizeto (approximately 12 kilometers to the south) addresses another demarcation between various castelli, including one named "[M]atidianum", thus providing possibly another name for Castellum T.
